Ref: Internationally Trained Accountants

Hello! All Group members

...I am Internationally Trained Professional in Accounting and facing the challenges of the requirement of Canadian experience and recognition of my education. These days I am doing some research regarding the designations of CA, CMA and CGA in Canada as long term goals.

Till now Ii have reached to the conclusion that CGA is the best option for international professionals with more than 5 years experience in their fields. Although it is expensive but it allows the maximum exemptions and facility of online or correspondance education.

I would appreciate the feedback of other internationally trained accountants in the group. Also what additional diploma / computer courses would be beneficial to find first job.

Sincerely,
Bushra Faryal

Ref: How much pension and allowances?

Dear friends:

I'm here in Canada more than 10 years and will turn 65 next month. I'm filing my income tax Return every year but frankly speaking, my income never reached to a taxable limit. Can any one tell me precisely that how much pension or allowances should I expect after becoming Senior? Thanks in advance.

Ref: What kind of job we can get?

Dear friends:

I'm an electrical engineer (maintenance) and my wife is a family physician. We will be coming to Canada in next few months. We are aware that we have to go through the licensing process before we could practice our professions. Could any one tell us that what kind of survival or somewhat related jobs we can get in the beginning to run our kitchen? We will be obliged.

Ref. Few questions
I'm interested to immigrate to Canada.  However, I have a few questions that I hope you could answer:

1.  Is it easy to apply for Canadian immigration?  Do applicants need the assistance of immigration lawyers or they could apply on their own?
2.  How is the job market in Canada?  I heard it's not so good.  Many nurses are even going abroad especially to US for better pay.
3.  Another concern is the climate.  Is it really that cold in winter?
4.  How are the rent and home property prices?  Is it better to rent or buy?
5.  How is the education in Canada?  For post secondary, college and university to obtain a degree, is the tution fees high?  Are the subjects credited in other countries such as US?
6.  Canada is known for her free health care system.  But, I heard it's a long wait to get service unless one is on emergency or dying.  Also, one has to buy his own drugs; vision and dental are not free.
7.  Canada taxes are very high.  Take home pay would sometimes be only half of the gross.
8.  Is there less racial discrimination in Canada than US?
9.  How are seniors being treated in Canada?
10.  How is the peace and order...crimes?  Lately, Canadian media reported
increase of crimes many victims of whom are minorities and Filipinos.
Your reply and answers to the above queries shall be highly appreciated.  Thank you and God bless you.

Ref:: My children

I'm a recent immigrant and have three children. Daughter 12, sons 9 and 7. I'm really scared with the open society here and don't know how to save and protect my children. I haven't bough TV but computer
is equally bad for the kids. My husband and me are well educated and yet to find a relevant job. We both are working in rotating shifts and even could not buy a car so far. We are living in a basement in
Scarborough. I need some practical advices from you people matching to our existing situation. If nothing works out, I'll rather prefer to go back to Pakistan.

Thanks

Ref: Should I vote

Dear friends:
The election is just ahead but I haven't yet decided to cast my vote or not. If I decide to vote, to whom should I cast my VOTE?

I do not belong to any political party. In the last election, I voted for a Muslim candidate but he could not win. This time I don't have any Muslim candidate in my riding, and I don't know about others. Can
any one guide me about it? Many thanks
